Google+ traffic goes down; Will it die before public launch?

According to data revealed by market researcher Hitwise, the growth rate of Google+ has come down by 3 percent. Hitwise report said that during the week ending Jul 23, Google+ received 1.79 million visits, which is 3 percent from the previous week with 1.86 million visits.
Importantly, the average time spent on the site fell 10 percent from 5 minutes and 50 seconds to 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Earlier, one report revealed that after the announcement of Google+, users are spending more time on Google.com, a significant win for search giant Google over its rival Facebook.
Within three weeks after its announcement, Google+ managed to grab more than 20 million users around the globe. Though it's still in beta version and available only through Invitation, Google Plus became a hit among the users and reports suggested that it will outgrow the market dominator Facebook.
Though Google Plus has only less than 1 percent of its users, Facebook is worried about its existence. Soon after Google+'s launch, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg added video calling and group chat feature. Moreover, going ahead of its rival, Facebook launched 'Facebook for Business' to help its business users.
Google has not yet announced the final release date of Google+, but said that they are working to fix bugs and will add more features in coming days. But, it's interesting to see how many of its users will stick with it.
