LPG Gas Connection: What is RR No. Mismatch?

State civil supplies and consumers affairs Ministry on Thursday, Jul 21 asked to suspend illegal connections and urged customers to provide the documents within 15 days.

With the government's order, more than 1.7 lakh consumers logged-in to Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Department's website to view the status of their LPG gas connections. Meanwhile, the unexpected huge traffic pulled down the website down and it was not loading for more than hours. Later officials said that the National Infomatics Centre will be increasing the server capacity to prevent the site from hanging or from the session being timed out.

"There is no need for anybody to panic. If the connection is disconnected it is only pending verification, which will be done within a month's time. Only those who have illegally procured connections will be grilled," BA Harish Gowda, principal secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, said to Indian Express.

If the RR number and LPG connection details are not matching, then users can correct it online. The confirmation of the change in details will be done within 24 hours and distributors too will resume their refilling. The technical department is working on informing the agents directly and this system will be released in a week," Gowda added.
