Ahara K'taka: Is your LPG connection suspended? What's next?

Bangalore, Jul 27: Have you checked the status of your LPG gas connection in Ahara Karnataka website? If not, do it now or else search for other fuels to cook your food! You are not alone in this process, the whole LPG consumers have to verify the status of their LPG connection to know whether it's legal or illegal.

There are different ways for the verification of your LPG gas connection. Consumers can login to Ahara Karnatak website and van verify the status. Moreover, they can upload the documents needed for verifying the connection. Those who are not able to login to the website can visit their nearest Taluk office and verify the status.

If you found that your LPG gas connection has been suspended, you can upload the correct documents to avoid the suspension. Earlier, Karnataka civil supplies and consumers affairs ministry found that the state has 75,55,156 gas connections of which 34,05,509 were unlawful. Click here to Login to Ahara Karnataka Website.

"We have suspended those consumers who have not turned up with their documents or have not provided the RR numbers or there is a mismatch of RR number and LPG consumer number and LPG consumers with commercial RR numbers. But we are open to them if they furnish the correct documents … or apply directly at taluk offices," said Shobha Karandlaje, minister for food, civil supplies and consumer affairs. In Bangalore (urban) alone, of 3,40,706 ration cards processed, 1,62,658 ration cards did not match with the electricity RR numbers. Of 3,66,907 LPG consumers, 1,89,667 papers of LPG consumers were processed; 1,77,240 LPG consumers did not furnish documents, DNA reported.
