Train mishap
New Delhi, Jul 12: What can be more shocking for the aam-admi when a Minister of State (MoS) rejected to visit the accident area where more than 100 people were critically injured in a massive rail accident. Despite receiving a clarion call from the Prime Minister, the MoS preferred to stay away from the accident hit people claiming - "I'm not the railway minister".

India witnessed two massive rail accidents at the same day on Sunday, Jul 10. While at least 67 people were dead and 200 injured in Delhi bound Kalka mail accident, 100 people were seriously injured when Puri-Guwahati express derailed following explosions on rail track.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reportedly asked the MoS Mukul Roy to visit the place where Puri-Guwahati Express derailed. However, Roy said, "I am not the Railways Minister, the Prime Minister is," and abstained from the visit.

After Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee became the first woman chief minister of West Bengal, the railway minister's post remained empty, though she (Mamata) expressed her desire to retain the portfolio with TMC.

The UPA government will go for its cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, Jul 12 and sources informed that Mamata's party man Dinesh Trivedi will be made Union Rail Minister.

However, despite having all powers and facilities, the ministers are unfortunately showing their apathy towards the common man who suffer frequent accidents.
