New Delhi,Jun 15: The schools in Tamil Nadu are prepared to re-open for a fresh new academic session. But, unfortunately the students have to move to their classes with empty school bags as they have no textbooks to study.

The AIADMK government has demanded the poems written by DMK chief M. Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi to be removed from the curriculum.

On Tuesday, Jun 14, the Supreme Court had directed a committee to look into the content of textbooks published by the Tamil Nadu government for schools. The AIADMK government decided to put off the introduction of the new textbooks and ordered to be prepared and published by the previous DMK government.

The AIADMK government had decided to defer the new uniform system of education envisaged by the previous DMK government. The Supreme Court was approached on this regard.

The state government has admitted that the validity of the new system had already been upheld by the high court and the Supreme Court, but stressed that it had decided to postpone implementation till textbooks were prepared and norms were put in place.
