Suresh Kalmadi has no visitors in Tihar jail

New Delhi, Jun 10: Suresh Kalmadi, the sacked Organising Committee chief of CWG 2010, who is spending his time in Tihar jail hardly gets any visitor, unlike next to door high profile neighbours.

While DMK, MP Kanimozhi and A Raja, ex-telecom minister and other accused on the charges of corruption have a bee line of people lined up to meet them, Kalamadi hardly gets any visitor. The only visitors who come to meet him are his lawyer, wife and son reveals the visitor's book in the jail.

He spends most of his time jail number four in the 10X12 feet cell.

Kalmadi's bail plea was rejected by the Patiala Court on Jun 6. Kalmadi, along with other CWG OC officials, were earlier arrested for awarding the lucrative contract to the Swiss firm to install a Timing-Scoring-Result (TSR) system for the 2010 Commonwealth Games at an exorbitant cost, causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to the exchequer. Congress suspended him from the party after Kalamadi was arrested.

The other officials who were arrested are - OC Joint Director General (Sport) A S V Prasad and Deputy Director General (Procurement) Surjit Lal.
