Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9-inch image leaked ahead of launch

Florida, Mar 22: Just hours before its official launch, the pictures and specifications of upcoming Samsung Galalxy Tab 8.9-inch Android tablet leaked over web. Samsung scheduled to launch this new Galaxy Tab at

today (Tuesday, 22 Mar).

The technology blog Pocketnow published the latest leaked images and specifications of Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9-inch. According to the reports, this new tablet will have a 8.9-inch touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. This new tablet will stand in between the other Galaxy Tabs with 7-inch and 10.1-inch screen versions.

Just like the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will also run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, which is specially designed for tablets. This new Apple iPad 2 killer is powered with 1Ghz dual core processor.

Samsung claimed that its technology will provide PC-like speedy performance on the new Galaxy Tab. The screen resolution of this tablet is higher than the rivals like Motorola Xoom and the Big Bro iPad 2. Samsung aims to get more acceptance in three segments of the tablet market. With this new tablet, Samsung will have three Galaxy Tabs in the 7-inch, 8.9-inch and 10-inch segments.

Some other reports added that 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab will have 0.33-inch thickness and 1.03 pounds weight. Other features include dual Wi-Fi antenna for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. These specs and features are just rumors. We are still waiting for the official launch. Stay tuned.
