Police probing if girl was pushed into drain

New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) The police were todayinvestigating whether personal enmity was behind the death ofan eight-year-old girl whose body was found in a drain hereafter a post mortem report ruled out sexual assault.

The body of Laxmi Kumari, who had been missing sinceFebruary 19, was found in a drain in south-west Delhi Dwarkayesterday.

A senior police official said the post mortem ruledout sexual assault and her death was attributed to drowing.

He said they suspected personal enmity to be thereason behind the untimely death of the girl.

She has no injury marks on her body, the official saidadding they were investigating whether somebody pushed herinto the drain.

The girl resided in Bindapur area and her father isin welding business.
