18-year-old drowns in river while picnicking
Bundi (Raj), Feb 20 (PTI) An eighteen-year-old boyaccidentally fell into the Chambal river and drowned at apicnic spot near Garadiya Mahadev temple here, police saidtoday.
Abhijeet Das, a resident of Assam''s Barpeta districtwho was staying in Kota to take coaching for his IIT entranceexam, drowned in Chambal river last afternoon and his body isyet to be found, SHO Dhabi police station Mahendra Kumar Marrusaid.
The boy had come to the spot for a picnic with eightof his friends when he fell in the river. Though two of hisfriends jumped in the waters to save him, they could notsucceed, the SHO said.
Efforts are on to recover his body from the deepwaters, he added.
