Obama calls CBS correspondent Lara Logan after sexual assault
New York, Feb 17 (ANI): US President Barack Obama on Wednesday called CBS News correspondent Lara Logan, who was sexually assaulted in Cairo last week while covering Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's resignation, to express his concern for her condition.
"The president called her late this morning and expressed concern for her condition," a family friend told The New York Post.
Meanwhile, the White House has decried the attack on Logan and has called on the Egyptian government to bring the attackers to justice.
"We believe that those responsible for these acts - and obviously there was other violence - need to be held accountable," said administration spokesman Jay Carney.
Logan has wrapped herself in the comforting cocoon of home and family, with her husband Joe Burkett and son Joe by her side, as she recovered from a violent sexual attack at the hands of a raging Egyptian mob. (ANI)
