UP govt warns publishers of textbooks
Lucknow, Feb 15 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh government todaywarned that publishers who were asking students in state-runschools to purchase guides with prescribed books would beblacklisted.
"If we get complaints that any publisher is askingstudents to purchase guides with prescribed books, we willtake strict action against them. Such publishers will beblacklisted," state Secondary Education Minister RangnathMishra said while replying to a query during the question hourin the assembly.
Denying claims that there was shortage of books forclasses ninth and tenth, the Minister said directives had beenissued to ensure that they are easily available to thestudents.
