Leopard shot dead after it injuries ten people
Ghaziabad, Feb 15 (PTI) A leopard was shot dead by localsafter it injured around ten people, including two policemen,in Garhmukteshwar area near here, officials said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the leopardstrayed into a sugar cane field and attacked the labourersworking there, circle officer Arvind Kumar Panday said.
Local police and wildlife officials, who were alertedabout the incident, rushed to the spot to trap the animal buta police sub-inspector and a constable were injured in theprocess, said Panday.
The animal was later shot dead by the villagers in thepresence of wild life officials, said the officer.
