Kerala unsafe for women; yet another molestation

Rape
Kochi, Feb 8: The state of Kerala has always taken pride in providing safety and high esteem to women, but all that is gradually fading away. The recent sexual assaults against women has tarnished the state's image. Just a week after a woman was pushed off a running local train and allegedly raped, yet another incident has escalated the embarrassment for Kerala government, particularly for Railway department.

A 23-year-old man misbehaved with a woman passenger on board the Thiruvananthapuram, in Mangalore Express.

The Railway police said, “The woman was asleep on the top berth late on Sunday night when she felt someone trying to embrace her and screamed for help that woke up other passengers when the train was nearing Ernakulam station."

A case under section 354 of IPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) has been charged against him, sources said.
