JSW Steel crude steel prodn up 9 pc in Jan at 5.80-lakh tonnes

Mumbai, Feb 7 (PTI) Steel major, JSW Steel, today saidthat it has posted a nine per cent growth in its crude steelproduction in January as compared to the year-ago period.

The company''s crude steel production rose to 5.80-lakhtonnes in January 2011 as against 5.33-lakh tonnes in theyear-ago period, a press release issued here stated.

Production of rolled products-flat increased 39 per centat 4.62-lakh tonnes in January 2011 as against 3.34-lakhtonnes in January 2010, the release said.

Its rolled products-long production declined 10 per centto 0.91-lakh tonnes as against 1.01-lakh tonnes in theyear-ago period.
