Man arrested for sexually assaulting girl

Srinagar, Feb 2 (PTI) Police today arrested a manaccused of sexually exploiting a girl here on the pretext ofgetting her a job outside Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

"Shabir Ahmad Ahanger, resident of Gutroo-Tral in Pulwamadistrict was arrested after evading arrest for a long time,"they said.

Ahangar, 42, had been allegedly sexually exploiting agirl from remote village of Tral for a period of more thanfour months under the pretext of providing her job outside thestate, they said.

"The matter was brought before police by the victim andher parents. A case under section 376 and 506 of IPC has beenregistered against the accused, who was arrested fromSrinagar," the officials added.
