Badal approves Rs 16 cr fund for Military Training Institute
Chandigarh, Feb 3 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister ParkashSingh Badal today approved a corpus fund of Rs 16 crore formaking the upcoming Maharaja Ranjit Singh PreparatoryInstitute for Military Training at Mohali financially viable.
While reviewing the progress of the institute here, theChief Minister directed the finance department to immediatelyrelease a sum of Rs 5 crore as corpus fund during this fiscaland the remaining Rs 11 crore in the next financial year.
Badal also asked the Director of the institute Maj Gen(Retd) BS Grewal to immediately convene a general body meetingof the institute to finalize the modalities for its maidensession likely to begin from April 18, 2011.
The construction of the institute under first phase wouldbe completed by February 10.
Badal asked the Director to ensure the best talentamongst the students should be trained for the armed forces inthe institute for which the state government was committed toextent all possible help to make it one of the mostprestigious Army training institutes in the country.
