NDA leaders to meet tomorrow to discuss JPC in 2G spectrum

New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) NDA leaders will meet tomorrow todiscuss the stand on the demand for a JPC probe into the 2GSpectrum allocation, ahead of Leader of the Lok Sabha PranabMukherjee''s invitation for an all-party meeting for a smoothBudget Session of Parliament.

"Pranab Mukherjee has invited us for a luncheon meetingon 8th Feb for mutual consultation on the budget session ofParliament," Swaraj said on Twitter.

Mukherjee had extended the invitation to all politicalparties last week to find a way out to end the impasse inParliament on the JPC issue. The opposition says it would notbudge from its demand for a JPC probe and would not allow theParliament to function till this was done, while thegovernment too seems unrelenting on the issue.

The Opposition parties had not allowed both Houses ofParliament to function during the Winter session, leading toits complete washout. The government is apprehensive of thesame scenario during the budget session and wants to end thedeadlock.

"NDA floor leaders are meeting tomorrow to discuss theirresponse to the meeting called by Pranab Mukherjee," Swarajsaid in another tweet.

The NDA meeting will be held at the residence of itsWorking Chairman L K Advani. Leaders from BJP, JD(U), ShivSena and Shiromani Akali Dal will attend the meeting.

BJP President Nitin Gadkari is arriving in the capitaltonight and is likely to attend the meeting, which may discussother current political issues as well, sources said.

Swaraj is away in Kerala to meet the family members offishermen killed by the Sri Lankan navy but will be back inthe capital to attend tomorrow''s discussions.
