Case against two officers in revenue official suicide case

Lucknow, Jan 29 (PTI) A case has been registeredagainst two officers in connection with the suicide of arevenue department officer, who had accused senior officers ofharassing him.

An FIR has been lodged against sub-divisionalmagistrate Mohanlalganj Sunil Chaudhary and tehsildar J PSingh Chauhan on charges of abetment of suicide at Alambaghpolice station, they said.

The two officers have already been placed undersuspension by the administration.

Baburam Maurya, who was posted in Mohanlalganj tehsil,had allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of amoving train near Mawaiya railway crossing in Alambagh onJanuary 26.

In his suicide note, Babulal, who belonged to abackward community, had said that he was taking the step dueto alleged harassment by senior officers.

Family members of Babulal also alleged that harassmentby his senior officers forced him to commit suicide.
