Gore to be new VC of Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth
Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI) Maharashtra Governor KSankaranarayanan, in his capacity as Chancellor ofuniversities in the state, today appointed Dr KishanPunjajirao Gore as the Vice Chancellor of the MarathwadaKrishi Vidyaeeth, Parbhani.
Dr Gore has served as the Regional Head of the CentralSoil and Water Conservation Research and Training Institute,Research Centre, Sunabeda, in Koraput district of Orisssa. Hehas 36 yeas of experience of teaching, research, extension,management and administration.
He has served as Professor of Agriculture Engineering atMarathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth Parbhani and has several researchpublications to his credit.
He succeeds Dr S S Kadam whose term as Vice Chancellorexpired on October 20 last year, a Raj Bhavan release said.
The Governor had appointed a Search Committee under theChairmanship of Justice P. N. Bhagwati (Retd.), former ChiefJustice of India for the selection of the new Vice Chancellor,the release said.
The appointment of Dr Gore is for a term of five yearswith effect from the date he assumes the charge of office ofthe Vice Chancellor or till he attains the age of sixty fiveyears, whichever is earlier.
