Haroon, Beg upset over opposition to opening of AMU branches
Bhopal, Jan 15 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Jamiat-Ulama chiefHaji Mohammed Haroon and State President of Aligarh MuslimUniversity Old Boys Association, Shabbir Beg have stronglycriticised the opposition to opening of AMU branches invarious states.
In a joint statement, the two said that at a time whenbranches of educational institutions in the West were beingopened all over the world, it would be erroneous to opposeopening of branches of the AMU.
They said that intellectuals should oppose any moveagainst the opening of AMU branches.
The duo said that AMU was a distinct university which hadits own culture and the move to have more branches for itshould be appreciated.
