Left Front says Lalgarh incident subjudice, avoids comment

Kolkata, Jan 12 (PTI) The Left Front in West Bengaltoday said the Lalgarh killings incident was subjudice and itwill refrain from commenting on the issue till the stategovernment submits its affidavit before the Calcutta HighCourt.

"We cannot discuss the issue as it is a subjudicematter. We will not comment on the Netai village incident inLalgarh till the government submits its affidavit," Left Frontchairman Biman Bose told newspersons here after a LF meeting.

A division bench presided over by Chief Justice J NPatel acting on a PIL had yesterday directed the stategovernment to file an affidavit stating its position on theprayers for a CBI probe, interim compensation and dismantlingof armed camps in junglemahal area by January 13.

Seven persons were killed and over 20 injured infiring by suspected armed CPI-M cadres in Lalgarh in WestMidnapore district on January 7.

Claiming that the Trinamool Congress was trying tocreate unrest in the state, Bose warned constituents not to beprovoked.

"Trinamool Congress is giving provocation all thetime. We have decided not to be provoked or provoke others,"he said.
