Cold wave intensifies in North India, Delhi shivers at 3.7 degrees

New Delhi, Jan 4 (ANI): The minimum temperature in the national capital on Tuesday plunged to the season's lowest so far at 3.7 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature dropped below the expected average, while the minimum temprature recorded on Monday was 8.2 degree Celsius.

In Uttarakhand, cold wave conditions continue with mercury dipping to below zero degree levels at few places in the state.

According to Director, Met department, Dehradun, Anand Sharma, the weather will remain dry in the next twenty four hours but the cold winds would continue with fog and frost in plain areas.

In Madhya Pradesh, most parts of the state are in grip of cold wave.

The lowest minimum temperature in the state dipped to as low as one degrees and was recorded in Panchmarhi.

Similar conditions are prevailing in the other parts of the state. Rewa and Umaria recorded minimum temperature of three degrees each.

In Uttar Pradesh, the westerly winds increased the severity of cold. Mist and clouds are looming large over the eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Bijnore was the coldest place during last 24 hrs where the minimum temperature dipped to 2.2 degrees.

In Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang and Ziro witnessed extremely cold conditions even though the minimum temperatures settled a few notches above normal.

Meanwhile, Mount Abu in Rajasthan shivered as mercury levels plunged below the minus mark. (ANI)
