Onion makes PM angry, cries for aam admi

Prime Minister"s Office wrote letters to the secretaries of the departments of consumer affairs and agriculture. The letter asked to take immediate steps to control the price and to monitor the impact on a day-to-day basis.
Earlier, Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar told reporters that the high price of the onions will continue for at least three more weeks. He also added that price will continue at Rs 70 per kg for some days till the arrival of next batch of onions.
Meanwhile, the price continued upto Rs 80 per kg in different markets across the country. Also, the imports from Pakistan reduced due to the less availability. Pakistan media reported that Indian imports have resulted the price rise of onions in Pakistan.
