Parl stormed with demand for JPC probe on Raja

Parliament of India
New Delhi, Nov 15: After both houses of the Indian Parliament were stormed with demand of Joint Parliamentary Committee's (JPC) probe on former Telecom Minister A Raja, the UPA government rejected Opposition's demand relentlessly on Nov 15.

Despite the report that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would address the issue of 2G Spectrum and Raja's role in the scam in the afternoon session of the parliament, Oppositions started chanting as "We want JPC" and finally Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the second time on Nov 15.

However, after his meeting with DMK chief Karunanidhi on Nov 14, Raja tabled his resignation, which was deliberately accepted by the Prime Minister on the same day.

Though Raja claimed, "In order to avoid embarrassment to the Government and maintain peace and harmony in Parliament, my leader (Karunanidhi) has advised me to resign."
