Patna: Girl commits suicide after months of rape

Patna, Oct 26: A 21-year-old MBA student committed suicide after being subjected to months of sexual abuse by her spurned lover.

Arya ended life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her Munnachak residence on Monday, Oct 25, after enduring months of rape and assault by her spurned lover and his friends, reported a newspaper.

Arya, who was doing MBA under Madurai Kamraj University's distance education programme, left behind a handwritten suicide note, in which she has named her "tormentors" and hoped that they are punished, reported Times of India on Tuesday, Oct 26.

"Copies of my suicide note should be sent to the President, Prime Minister and state chief minister. My tormentors belong to influential families and they can use their influence to save their skin.

"If you fail to do justice to my soul, at least provide protection to my father, mother and brother and do not harass them," the four-page note reads.

The names of Arya's assailants have been revealed as Praveen Kumar of Central Bank Colony, Pushkar of Bankmen's Colony and Harsh Ranjan and Jyoti Ranjan of east Ashok Nagar.

Giving the vivid details of her torture in the note, Arya alleged that Vinit, Pushkar and Harsh raped her regularly and had even made her obscene MMS after threatening to implicate her family members in false cases if she did not cooperate for the shoot, the newspaper report said.

Urging the police to send her body to a medical examination, Arya wrote in her suicide note, "As late as Oct 20, they forced themselves on me; the marks of beating can be seen on my left hand and ear."

Patrakarnagar police has vowed to take action once the allegations are proved to be true.
