After CBI, Parliamentary panel to inspect CWG site

New Delhi, Oct 22: After the CBI stepped in into the Commonwealth Games mess, now a Parliamentary Committee on Thursday, Oct 21 confirmed the decision to inspect the site on Nov 3 for assessment of the work done and present its report to Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament, which will begin on Nov 9.

During the meeting of the Estimates Committee that was held few days back, Sports policy, infrastructure and training facilities of the Sports Ministry were among the subjects being covered by the 30-member Committee.

Earlier, some members of the BJP and other opposition parties had wanted to inspect the site before the Games commenced on Oct 3 but Committee Chairman Francisco Sardinha convinced them that the visit should take place after the mega sporting event ended, they said.

As the Games is over and the blame game on, the organising committee of the Commonwealth Games are facing the sharp attack from the government of India.
