Oz $18 mn jackpot: Winner still to collect prize

Sydney, Sep 16: Australian NSW Lottery authorities are still waiting for the lottery jackpot winner to give $18 million, two days after the winning ticket was bought in Sydney.

Sydney Morning Herald reported that the winner of the Oz Lotto jackpot, who bought the ticket in Sydney on Tuesday, Sep 14, had not yet come forward to claim the prize.

"The location of the ticket outlet would not be released so the winner could check their entry without the glare of publicity. Lottery players have up to Dec 1, 2016, to claim their winnings and the prize is tax free," said Una O'Neill, spokeswoman for NSW Lotteries.

NSW Lotteries has paid out more than $13 billion since the first draw in 1831.
