Romney pips Palin to win survey on 2012 US Presidential polls
Alaska, Sept 2 (ANI): Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has lost out to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in a new poll about a 2012 matchup, Politico reports.
In a survey done by Public Policy Polling, 805 Republicans from Alaska were asked whom they would back in the 2012 GOP primary. Romney got the maximum votes, with 20 percent of Alaska Republicans supporting him. Only 17 percent of Alaska Republicans said they would vote for Palin.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee also got 17 percent of votes, while former House Speaker Newt Gingrich trailed at the fourth spot with 16 percent of the votes. Ten percent of the Republicans supported Texas Republican Ron Paul while 20 percent of them either chose the undecided option or were supporting an unlisted candidate.
"Fortunately for Sarah Palin, Alaska decides few convention delegates, and coming more than a month after Super Tuesday, she may not survive the race to be embarrassed on her home turf," said Dean Debnam, the president of Public Policy Polling.
The poll took place on August 27 and 28 with a margin of error 3.5 percent. (ANI)
