Gujarat BJP women activists send rakhis to jailed leader Amit Shah
Surat, Aug 22 (ANI): Women activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have sent 'rakhis' to former state minister Amit Shah, who is currently in jail facing charges of masterminding Sohrabuddin Sheikh's encounter case.
"Our brother Amit Shah is in Sabarmati jail. So, all the sisters of the Bharatiya Janata Party, all the sisters of Surat city and NGO's have organised this to send rakhis to protect him and we are also praying for him," said Deepika Chavda, one of the activists.
The women activists have decided to send rachis in large sumbers to Shah.
"From the whole Surat city we have decided to send him (Amit Shah) one lakh rakhis. Out of them we have already received 65,000 rsakhis and rest we will get by tomorrow," said Sudha Pandya, another woman activist of BJP.
This year the Raksha Bandhan festival will be celebrated on the upcoming Tuesday. (ANI) By Dharmesh
