K'taka police reaches Kerala to arrest Madhani

Kochi, Aug 10: Karnataka police team led by Circle Inspector Sitharamappa arrived Kerala on Tuesday, Aug 10 to take into custody of Abdul Nassir Madhani, People's Democratic Party leader, in connection with the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blast case.

The Kollam police will provide all necessary support for the Karnataka team as required by the law, said Harshita Attallury, Superintendent of Police, Kollam.

The Karnataka police team held discussions with Manoj Abraham, City Police Commissioner, and requested commando force to accompany them for moving to Anwarasserry, Kollam where Maudhani is staying.

The team then went to Kollam accompanied by six commandos. More commandos are expected to join them from Thiruvananthapuram. They are expected to take Maudhani into custody on Tuesday, Aug 10 itself.

According to the sources, extra forces will mobilised from the neighbouring districts. Police have been put on high alert in the district especially in the sensitive areas.
