Stampede at Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra, 1 killed
Puri, Jul 13: One woman was killed and three other pilgrims were injured in a stampede that broke out during the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.
The stampede reportedly started when the chariot of Lord Balabhadra was being pulled.
The Rath Yatra began on Tuesday, Jul 13 from Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad. Thousands of pilgrims on foot turned up to part take in the world famous Rath Yatra, that began amid heavy secruity.
The chariot of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balram and their sister Subhadra will embark on a 14 km long journey followed by colourfully adorned elephants, trucks, and other vehicles.
