London, July 12 (ANI): Adrian Kane, a father of two kids is eyeing to set a world record by pushing a car on the marathon course.

Kane is aiming to push a Smart car for 26.2 miles in 24 hours on 31 July, supported by wife Nikki, 36, and children Darcy, two, and Harriet, nine months.

The tax adviser, 35, wants to raise 50,000 pounds in honour of his mother Eileen, who died from cancer earlier this year, and will give the money raised to the World Cancer Research Fund and the Stroke Association.

His mother was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2008.

"It was upsetting for all of us but we hoped she would be fine following her operation a few weeks later to remove the cancerous tissue," the Scotsman quoted Kane as saying.

"Ten days later she was recovering well at home when she suffered a massive stroke and had to return to hospital. The stroke left her paralysed down her right hand side and she pretty well lost the ability to speak. In June 2009, the cancer returned and Mrs Kane died in January this year, aged 66. "It was so devastating for us all," he added,

Kane who enjoys football, rugby and cricket also said: "I've run a couple of marathons so I knew with some training that I could do it."

The current world record for how far a car has been pushed in one day is 17.06 miles. (ANI)
