Russian Prez pardons four accused spies

Moscow, Jul 9: Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President pardoned the four espionages who were accused of giving top secret information to the West as part of the spy swap underway with United States.

Medvedev signed the requests from four among them on Thursday, Jul 8 night, asking the President to pardon them, reported some Russian news agencies.

Four people, including a private nuclear researcher Igor Sutyagin, will be exchanged to Russia. The others include double agents Alexander Zaporozhsky, Sergei Skripal and Gennadi Vasilenko.

Another double agent Alexander Sypachev, whose name was mentioned as the fourth previously was not on the list of those pardoned by the Russian President. The approval of excuses removed the final barrier to the exchange.
