Markets ends on a strong note
The markets ended the volatile session on a strong note as BSE Sensex was up 111.19 points or 0.68% at 16519.68, and the Nifty was up 27.95 points or 0.57% at 4947.60 gaining 100 points at closing. Oil & gas stocks increased post cabinet approval of raising regulated gas price.
Reliance, ICICI Bank, L&T, HDFC and ITC were the positive contributors to the Sensex.However, realty and auto stocks ended lower.
Top gainers on the Sensex were ONGC at Rs 1,118.20 up 8.72%, Sterlite Ind at Rs 652.45 up 2.35%, SBI at Rs 2,263.40 up 2.19%, Reliance Infra at Rs 984.70 up 1.97% and NTPC at Rs 204.75 up
The markets specialists feel that market are regaining fast its erstwhile level of 20,000 on the back of strong macros and will soon touch the magic figure.

Stock markets gains amid volatile trade
Mumbai, May20: At 14:30 hrs, the BSE Sensex was up 114.65 points or 0.70% at 16523.14, and the Nifty up 26.70 points or 0.54% at 4946.35.
It was a volatile session for the markets as the markets were pulled largely because of the performance of ONGC stocks.Nifty traded in narrow band of 4940-4960 range suggesting lack of conviction by the bullies in the markets as the fear grasp the markets among the volatile asian markets who lost 1% and global markets.
Industry heavyweight Reliance was up at Rs 998.60 up 0.03% from its previous close of Rs 998.30. Tech major Infosys was up at Rs 2,606.45 up 0.13% from its previous close of Rs 2,603.10. Refinery major HPCL was up at Rs 345.40 up 2.64% from its previous close of Rs 336.50.
Top gainers on the BSE Midcap: IndusInd Bank, Piramal Healthcare, Sterlite Technologies, Sun Pharma Advance were up 4-9.5%.

Stock markets choppy with positive bias
At 12:00 hrs, BSE Sensex was 16,484.46 up 75.97 points or 0.35 percent; NSE Nifty was 4940.70 up 21.05 points or 0.23 percent.
Sensex lose the early gains and the top gainers were ONGC, up 8.12 percent, Reliance Comm up by 1.94 percent, M&M up 0.92 percent.
Infosys, ICICI bank, ITC, L&T and HDFC Bank were trading red where as Reliance, HDFC, and TCS contributed positive.
Realty, capital goods and metal stock underwent selling pressure where as pharma and auto stocks were trading in green.

Markets open green; realty, metals, cap goods in red
At 9:50 hrs, BSE Sensex opened at 16,476.75 up 68.26 points; NSE opened at 4932.55 surging 12.90 points. The markets gained from higher levels.
Around 1563 shares advanced, 1276 declined and 452 remained unchanged.
BSE Realty index was the only one trading in red. Broader markets also bounced back sharply.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap index rose up to 1 percent.
Among the Largecap, Reliance Communications, Idea Cellular, M&M, GAIL were trading red by 2.3 to 3.7 percent. Infosys was on green up 0.61 percent trading at Rs. 2,619.00 from its previous close of Rs. 2,603. ITC was trading up 0.27 percent and Hindustan Lever, up 0.64 percent. HDFC, ABB, TATA Power, NTPC and HDFC Bank were going red by 0.2 to 0.8 percent.
The top gainers on the BSE Midcap includes Sun Pharma Advance, TVS Motor, OnMobile Global and State Bank of Mysore, up by 3 to 5 percent.
