Defeat of Opposition's Cut Motion, a befitting reply: Mukherjee

New Delhi, April 27 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday termed the victory of the United Progressive Alliance Government in the Lok Sabha against the Opposition's Cut Motions as "a befitting reply."

Reacting soon after the UPA's victory in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Mukherjee said: "It was an impressive show in the Lok Sabha (by the UPA Govt.). It was a befitting reply to the Cut Motion."

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in his reaction on the Cut Motion said: " It was completely needless."

" BJP didn't do its homework," the Home Minister added.

The UPA defeated Left Front's Cut Motion by 88 votes and BJP's Cut Motion by 84 votes. (ANI)
