US warns India of possible terror strike
Washington, Apr 18: In its latest advisory United States has warned India of a possible terrorists attack and has advised its citizen to be on alert during their stay in India.
"The US government continues to receive information that terrorist groups may be planning attacks in India," the Department of State said.
In its latest advisory, US referred to Feb 2010 bombing in Pune and the Nov 2008 attacks in Mumbai to advise its nationals to exercise caution, adding that hotels, markets, trains and other public places in India are the terrorist groups' most attractive targets.
"Terrorists and their sympathisers have demonstrated their willingness and capability to attack targets where US citizens or Westerners are known to congregate or visit," the State Department said.
The latest advisory will replace the Travel Alert dating Jan 29, which will expire on May 30.
