Gilani rules out reports of two-year extension to Pak Army Chief

Lahore, Feb. 15 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has rejected claims that his government has offered of a two-year extension to Pakistani Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

"When we take a decision, why would we hide it from the media or the people?" The Nation quoted Gilani, as saying.

He added that the Pakistan government was carefully examining the NATO forces' operation in Helmand province of Afghanistan, and its possible repercussions for Pakistan.

"Our military leadership is in touch with NATO in this connection," he said.

Furthermore, Gilani condemned Saturday's bomb blast in Pune, and said both the countries should be purged of terrorism.

He added that Pakistan had been condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations to bring peace and security in the region. (ANI)
