Oz attacks: Indian victim set himself on fire?
Melbourne, Jan 11: The wife of the Indian youth, who was set on fire allegedly by a group of four men, has questioned the media reports doubting if the injuries were self-inflicted.
“Why would he burn himself? Why would he do that?" Paramjeet Kaur asked.
29-year-old Jaspreet Singh was beaten up and set on fire by four unidentified assailants in Essendon on Friday, Jan 8 night.
He was later admitted to hospital with 15 per cent burns.
On Saturday, Jan 9 when the incident came to light, the police said that the attack was not racially motivated as things 'did not add up'.
The police are yet to question the victim and are investigating into all possibilities.
