Ranchi: Koda shifted to hospital for treatment

Ranchi, Dec 29: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda has been shifted to a private hospital here from the Birsa Munda Central Jail for treatment.

P D Sinha, Director of Apollo said that Koda has been admitted to Abdur Razzak Memorial Weavers' Hospital, an Apollo Group Hospital on Dec 28, with complications of urinary tract infection.

His stay in the hospital will depend on his medical condition and advice of the attending doctors, he added.

Security has been beefed up at the hospital and armed police jawans posted outside the hospital in view of Koda's admission.

Koda was arrested on Nov 30 from Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district by the Vigilance Bureau in disproportionate assets case.

After his arrest Koda was shifted to the state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences here on Dec 9 after he complained of stomach pain.

After a week's stay in the hospital, he was shifted back to jail.
