Islamabad, Dec. 21 (ANI): British High Commission in Islamabad left dozens of Pakistanis distressed after informing them that their passports had been lost.

The High Commission also asked them to come up with fresh passports if they wanted their cases reconsidered.

The Nation quoted sources in the British High Commission, as saying that the passports had gone missing during the course of passport movement from Islamabad to Abu Dhabi for visa processing.

The commission failed to provide the exact number of the missing passports.

People whose passports went missing included those who had had valid visas for several countries and they suffered a huge loss because they failed to attend some of their important business meetings abroad.

Zafar Mahmood, CEO of Global Marketing Services, said he had applied for business visa for UK on July 7. He was kept on queries for quite some time and after several contacts he got a response from the Abu Dhabi visa section saying his passport was missing.

He added that he was agitated over the negligence on part of the UK High Commission and informed them that his passport contained valid visas of US, Schengen and resident visa of UAE where he had established his business.

Now Mahmood is planning to approach the courts to simply get back his old passport from the British High Commission containing the valid visas of USA and Schengen so that he can proceed with his business activities.

Mahmood added that many other persons like him were in trouble due to the British High Commission's negligence. (ANI)
