Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh mesmerises people in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 11 (ANI): Renowned Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh left the locals spellbound by his soul stirring ghazals during a concert held on the banks of the scenic Dal Lake in Kashmir.

People from all parts of Kashmir came here to listen to their favourite singer live in concert.

The concert was well appreciated by the Kashmiris and they felt such events should be held more frequently in the valley.

"It was a very good show. Jagjit Singh is a big artist. He has performed in Kashmir for the first time and he has a huge fan following here. Such events should be organised here. Our local artists should also get a chance to perform at such events and showcase their skills," said Sulaiman Khan, a local.

"It is a lifetime opportunity and we'd been thinking about it for long. This is the first time we got this chance. Ghazal soothes the souls and it also acts a bridge between the hearts. The arrangement was also good and we enjoyed a lot," said Babita, another local.

The concert provided a much-needed breather for the people who have been facing turbulent times in the region. (ANI)
