Andhra: TRS president in Hyderabad hospital
Hyderabad, Dec 3: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao was shifted to Hyderabad's Nizam"s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) from the Khammam Government Hospital on Thursday, Dec 3.
The former Union Minister, who is on a fast-unto-death for a separate Telangana state, has been undergoing treatment in Khammam for the past four years.
In NIMS, Rao is being treated in the Acute Medical Care (AMC) ward by a special team of doctors, say reports quoting official sources. Large number of supporters and activists have reportedly gathered outside the hospital.
Earlier this week, Rao was put in the Khammam sub-jail before he began the fast. He called off the fast two days after being admitted in the Khammam hospital. However, on receiving untoward reaction from Telangana supporters, he resumed it.
The party president's health continues to deteriorate. He was administered saline against his will on Wednesday, Dec 2 in Khammam hospital.
Andhra Pradesh Congress has come under heavy pressure to initiate the process for formation of a separate Telangana.
