Kerala: Tharoor accuses LDF of poor governance
Kochi, Oct 30: State External Affairs Minister, Shashi Tharoor came down heavily on the Left democratic Front(LDF) government on Thursday, Oct 29 for failing to bring development in Kerala.
"What kind of development have they brought in the state over the years", he asked in a function organised by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), adding that LDF was wrongly staking claim over Central government's proposed International Container Transhipment Terminal project at Vallarpadom.
Tharoor aacussed the government for misappropriation of 90 per cent of the fund allotted for the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme allotted by the Centre for paid employment of families below poverty line for 100 days.
"This is the kind of governance that we are seeing," said Tharoor displeased over the non-utilization of 80 per cent of fund under the debt relief programme for debt-ridden farmers.
Wayanad district of Kerala figures among the list of highest number of farmer suicides in the country.
