Govt denies report of firing by Chinese troops

New Delhi, Sep 15: The government on Tuesday, Sep 15, denied allegation that two ITBP jawans were injured in firing by Chinese troops in Sikkim recently.

"A media report about two ITBP jawans having been injured due to firing from across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has come to notice. The report is factually incorrect," External affairs ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said in a statement here.

Earlier an intelligence report had claimed that two Jawans of ITBP were injured when Chinese troops had fired at them in Kerang in northern Sikkim about a fortnight ago.
