World's most expensive hat on sale for 100,000 dollars
London, Sep 11 (ANI): The world's most expensive hat, a Montecristi Panama, is all set to be sold for a whopping sum of 100,000 dollars.
Known simply as "The Hat", the Panama has been made using the finest toquilla straw by master weaver Simon Espinal.
Espinal took five months to work on the hat, before it was passed to five other artisans for several more weeks' work, reports the Telegraph.
Weighing less than one ounce, the hat will not be blocked into a style or sized until the purchaser gives their final instructions.
The Panama Hat Company of Brent Black, which commissioned the Hat, boasts a clientele that includes the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Harrison Ford, Anthony Hopkins and Arnold Schwarzenegger.he Panama hat is a traditional brimmed hat from Ecuador that is made from the plaited leaves of the toquilla straw plant.
Their name was derived after they became fashionable in the early 20th century when many travellers picked them up as they sailed through the Panama Canal. (ANI)
