Sex scandal tainted NSW Health Minister to stay on Parliament
Sydney, Sep.1 (ANI): New South Wales Health Minister John Della Bosca will stay on in Parliament despite resigning the ministry last night, just hours after he was revealed to have been embroiled in a sex scandal.
Della Bosca decided to quit as Health Minister after The Daily Telegraph put a list of questions to him outlining a six-month affair he had this year with a 26-year-old woman.
Making his first public statement this morning, Della Bosca said he regretted his poor personal decisions and would have to live with the consequences.
He has said he would see out his term in Parliament.
The 53-year-old powerbroker had been reportedly pushing for an ousting of Premier Nathan Rees.
Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell has said the latest scandal showed that the state Government is out of control.
The scandal came out into the open after the 26-year-old woman provided a statement to The Daily Telegraph. (ANI)
