Mumbai: 7-month-old baby dies of H1N1; toll to 31

Mumbai, Aug 17: A seven-month-old baby died of Swine Flu at the Municipal Kasturba Hospital on Tuesday, Aug 18, taking the death toll in the city to three and across the country to 31.

Additional Municipal Commissioner, Manisha Mhaiskar said, "The baby Modia Mohammad Shaikh, a resident of suburban Ghatkopar, died at the hospital early today."

She also said, " The girl had been shifted to Kasturba hospital from a private hospital and her blood sample was sent to Haffkine institute for tests."

Earlier, a woman from Mumbai became the second fatality from the Swine Flu on Monday, Aug 17. The person's family has requested that no details be released in relation to the deceased.

Five more persons tested positive for Swine Flu in Chennai, the total number of confirmed cases in Tamil Nadu rose to 111 on Tuesday, Aug 18.
