"The blast occurred when the police truck also carrying ration goods for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was attacked by naxalites near the Bijapur valley which is 450 kilometers from the state headquarters," said Ankit Garg, Superintendent of Police.

The injured jawans have been admitted to the district hospital and two of those who sustained multiple injuries have been referred to Jagdalpur.

"Additional police force has been rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation," Garg added.
