Pak jail officials sew inmate's lips over failure to pay bribe
Lahore, June 4 (ANI): A robbery case accused languishing in a Pakistan jail has alleged that the District Jail officials allegedly sewed his lips after torturing him.
During a hearing of his robbery case on Wednesday, Muhammad Asif told the Judicial Magistrate that the jail officials tortured him for not bribing them, the Daily Times reports.
Later, he said the jail officials sewed his lips.
The court took notice of the incident and ordered a medical check-up. The court also directed that the accused to be shifted from the District Jail to Camp Jail after a medical check-up.
The court also issued show cause notices to the jail superintendent, the station house officer and the in-charge of the police guard, and sought reply on June 6. (ANI)
