Brazilian pilot says he thinks he' seen missing Air France jet in Atlantic Ocean

London, June 2 (ANI): The pilot of a Brazilian plane has said that he thinks he has seen the damaged parts of the Air France aircraft that reportedly crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Monday.

This morning, pilots from Brazilian commercial airline TAM said they had seen what they thought was fire on the ocean in the area the plane went missing early on Monday morning.

A Brazilian Air Force spokesman said: "There is information that the pilot of a TAM aircraft saw several orange points on the ocean while flying over the region... where the Air France plane disappeared.

Air France has confirmed five Britons and three young Irish women were among the passengers on board the missing Airbus A330 that was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, Sky News reports.

One of the British passengers is believed to be Arthur Coakley, from Whitby, North Yorkshire, whose wife Patricia spoke to him as he waited for his flight to be called.

Three Irish women, all in their mid 20s, were also on the missing flight.

They were named locally as Aisling Butler, of Roscrea, Co Tipperary, Jane Deasy of Dublin and Eithne Walls, originally from Belfast.

A total of 228 people were on board the flight, including 12 crew, a baby and seven children.

The passenger list of 216 people included 61 French, 58 Brazilians and 26 Germans, among the 32 nationalities. The crew was all French. (ANI)
